DBST, LLC / Dirt First Washington is an off-road motorcycle training program based in Snohomish County, Washington.
DBST, LLC / Dirt First Washington is proud to partner with the Gary Strode's Learn to Ride Curriculum.
Gary Strodes Learn to Ride Curriculum was originally developed by Robert Strode (Garys Father) in 1972 and was approved to be taught at Redmond High School by the Lake Washington School District. This motorcycle riding curriculum was developed to teach students to ride motorcycles on and off road on all types of terrain. Robert Strode combined every different discipline of riding on and off road in his curriculum Trials, Motocross, Flat Track, Hill Climbing, Off Road Dual Sporting and Adventure Riding. The goal was to teach his students to become all around good motorcycle riders. When Robert became the Vice Principal at Rose Hill Jr High, he brought his approved motorcycle riding curriculum with him and started a Motorcycle club at the Jr High. This club was recognized and highly publicized in newspapers and on the TV show "How Come" in 1976. One of the members of his motorcycle club was his son Gary Strode. Gary Strode gained National recognition in Motocross, Supercross and Flat Track in 1994 and 1995 Gary earned AMA National Number 46 in Flat Track, made 2 AMA National main events in motocross, qualified in 5 Supercross rounds and earned Expert level in Trials. Later Gary opened MXGP in Monroe and trained riders using the same curriculum that was developed by his father. Gary Added things that he learned racing on the Professional circuit to the curriculum for the more advanced riders. Gary taught these techniques to some of the best riders in the world. Ryan Villopoto multi–AMA National Motocross Champion and Supercross champion trained and learned from Gary along with numerous other National level riders. The Gary Strode Learn to Ride Curriculum is the longest running most comprehensive learning curriculum from beginner riders to professional riders in the US. Our training program uses light-weight recreational dirt bikes that are user-friendly and appropriately sized to teach almost anyone how to ride motorcycles correctly and safely. We offer a variety of training geared towards men, women, and youth of all ages from beginner to advanced riders. Students are encouraged to bring their own bikes if available.
Learning to ride in the Dirt First Wa program holds incredible benefits for the riding public. Not only is it widely acknowledged by experts as the best way to learn for beginners, it is also recognized as the best way for anyone looking to improve their current riding skills regardless of what or where they ride now. This is the perfect skill builder for Dual-Sports, Adventure bike or Street bike riders.
DBST / DFW offers motorcycle rider training courses throughout the year for anyone who wants to learn how to ride or how to take their riding to the next level; men and women, boys and girls, of all skill levels from beginners to advanced riders seeking a motorcycle coach, motocross or trials training.
Street bike, dual sport and adventure riders will also benefit from the training as they can swap their bigger, heavier bike for one of our smaller, user-friendly dirt bikes. This allows a person to learn to ride in the dirt or improve existing riding skills without the pressure of a big bike. The skills learned will transfer to street or adventure bikes, enhancing the rider's overall abilities.
Our DBST / DFW training program will focus on positive energy from beginning to end; everyone feels welcome, validated and engaged in the training. We will have fun, focus on the customer, teach to every skill level and will further develop skills for safe, effective and efficient riding.
